Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre is the most exciting concert space in the heart of downtown Detroit. This unique waterfront venue is the epicenter of live entertainment in the summer for metropolitan Detroit. Managed by The Right Productions, The Aretha is a 6,000 seat Amphitheatre that ranks in Pollstar’s top 100 concert venues in the world.
We are currently seeking a small number of interns for our 2019 summer season. Our internship program has been a great success and learning experience, with possible full time position opportunities.
This internship is full time. Interns will be working 30+ hours a week. Do to that, this internship is stipend. The Aretha Administrative Office operates Monday -Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. In addition to normal office hours, show nights are every Wednesday’s, and/or Friday’s/Saturday’s.
Qualifications:
- College Student (For credit preferably)
- Passion for music
- Have a strong work ethic, accountability and responsibility
- Ability to work full time
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks
- Social Media experience
- Aptitude to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have ability to think quickly, creatively
Responsibilities:
Administrative Interns(2):
- Assisting CEO with assigned tasks
- Assist Exec Admin with daily and show related responsibilities
- The ability to work on, maintain, and manage The Aretha social media accounts
- Work closely with our Facilities Manager
Financial Intern:
- Assisting CFO and Payroll Officer on daily tasks
- Balancing financial information per show
- Assist in majorly payroll
- Basic administrative duties such as filing, updating spreadsheets, and creating show folders
Food and Beverage Intern:
- Assist Food and Beverage Managers in daily tasks
- Assist in inventory management
- Communicate with food and beverage managers/executive chef for any special show requests
- Filing and organizing
All interns will be sharing certain tasks that are vital to the operation of The Aretha including:
- Assist with daily venue operations, such as basic housekeeping, managing phones, and operating the front desk.
- Gathering show information and communicating to all departments in preparation of each event
- Basic administrative duties such as filing, updating spreadsheets, and creating show folders
- Assist with ticket printing and filing as needed
- Assisting team members with assigned tasks
- Special projects and other duties as appointed
