Biden for President Makes Closing Argument to Black Voters, Launches 9 New Ads

Today, Biden for President released a series of new ads nationally and in battleground states, including Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, that showcases Black Americans discussing their support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and trusting in their leadership to guide our country to a better tomorrow.

The nine new ads range from highlighting the Biden-Harris plan for alleviating student debt, to how Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will help small businesses build back better after being impacted by the pandemic, to how access to health care through the Affordable Care Act saved Americans’ lives. The ads are a part of a nationwide closing investment and mobilization message to the Black community.

Ahmad Mitchell decided to attend a vocational trade school and pursue a career as a gardener in order to prevent himself from going into student loan debt. Even though he loves running his community’s garden, he is excited that the Biden-Harris Administration will support forgiving
student debts and provide increased educational opportunities.

For Philadelphia audiences, Eva Johnson shares her story of moving to America to give her children the opportunity to obtain a better education and life. She calls out Trump for caring more about stock markets than for the people, whereas she describes Joe Biden as a president who will be there for everyone.

Jonathan Quarels of Flint, Michigan is confident that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will make the country much better than it has been in the last four years. In this testimonial-style ad, Jonathan engages Black men and the importance of voting in this election.

As a small business owner in Detroit, Nefertiti Harris details how her hair salon has been drastically impacted by COVID-19. She shares that because of Trump’s mismanagement of the pandemic, COVID-19 hit her community especially hard. She’s voting for Joe Biden because his Build Back Better Plan will help her as an entrepreneur.

Juwan in Philadelphia shares a story of his newborn son and their health care journey. He is voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because they will build on the Affordable Care Act to expand coverage and bring down costs.

Shahida Mausi condemns Trump for not having a plan to move the country forward during and post-pandemic. She trusts that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ plan to Build Back Better will help businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and won’t leave anyone left behind. Shahida
urges voters to vote like their lives depend on it and vote for Biden-Harris.

Donna Marie of Charlotte, North Carolina was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and breast cancer in 2014, and thanks to the Affordable Care Act she was able to afford the proper diagnostic tests. She is now a 5-year cancer survivor and credits the ACA for saving her life providing her the health care coverage she needed to beat cancer.

Qiana of Milwaukee, Wisconsin stresses the importance of voting in this election for someone who values the lives of others. She believes we have an opportunity to make a change by electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
